The dairy chain is vulnerable to threats such as mixing inferior substances at the farm or in the factory. But problems in the refrigeration chain may be the main cause of quality loss in dairy. The Internet of Things enterprise Stellapps has been working on digitizing the dairy chain since 2011 and has recently released a new application. SmartMoo encourages the digitization of the dairy sector by recording data from the entire supply chain, from farms to collection centres, to refrigeration centres in India.

Umesh Parjapat, Program Manager at Stellapps Technologies: “Our application is aimed at driving the digitization of the dairy sector through captured data from the entire supply chain, significantly enhancing income, profitability and yield per cow for farmers in emerging economies.”

During the awards ceremony, Head of Innovation at Rabo Foundation Albert Boogaard explained that the jury was impressed by the innovation, passion and dedication of the participants in the SustainableAg Asia Challenge. “These technologies and new business models can serve as catalysts for the diverse and fragmented food and agriculture industry in Asia, giving food and agri companies the resources to breathe new life into food production with smart agriculture, more effective and efficient processing and distribution techniques, and improving the lives of smallholder farmers throughout Asia.”

The main side benefit of the annual event is the introductions and collaborations between startups, chairpersons and CEOs of leading food and agribusiness companies, and raw materials wholesalers from China, India and Southeast Asia. Or as Diane Boogaard, CEO of Rabobank Asia says: “Through the SustainableAg Asia Challenge, we aim to bring our business clients together with innovative solutions in order to promote sustainability and integrity in the food and agri chain. As a cooperative Food & Agri bank, ‘Growing a better world together’ is the core of our mission.”

SmartMoo – Stellapps

SmartMoo’s innovative application and ultra-modern mechanization aids utilize the Internet of Things (IoT). Big Data, Cloud, Mobility and Data Analytics improve the parameters of the chain, including milk production, purchasing, cold storage chain, insurance and payments. The SmartMoo IoT router and internal IoT controller collect data via sensors embedded in dairy systems, wearable tools for animals, milk refrigeration equipment and milk processing devices, and send the data to the Stellapps SmartMoo™ Big Data Cloud Service Delivery Platform. The SmartMoo application package analyzes the data before the results of analytics and data science are sent to various stakeholders via smart mobile devices. The SmartMoo Cloud can support large numbers of farmers with the data obtained from tens of millions of litres of milk through the milk production, purchasing and cold storage.
